PADI Open Water

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, have new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts.

This is the first step and allows you to dive with a certified buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres / 60 feet. (Junior OW 12m Max)

What is included in your PADI Open Water Scuba Diving course:

PADI e-manual
Shallow confined water training dives
4 Open Water training dives
PADI Certification card
Use of Dive Computer
All scuba diving equipment

Requirements:

- 10-14 years: Junior Open Water Diver

- 15 years and above: Open Water Diver

- Must be medically fit to dive

- Able to float for 10 minutes

- Able to swim a short distance

What to expect during your PADI Open Water Scuba Diving course

You will complete the knowledge development part of the course using the online e-learning lite materials provided to you before you start your diving activities.

This will include completing knowledge reviews and quizzes and a final exam, all done online.

Quick Review

Once we have established your completion of all the knowledge development sections and have passed the final exam, your instructor will conduct a quick review questionnaire with you to see that you have retained some of the important points of diving knowledge.

Your Instructor will also reinforce some important points such as the effects of pressure, safety principles and the buddy system.

You will then be introduce to your diving equipment and dive computer.

Shallow & Confined Water training

You will start in water that is deep enough for you to stand in with your head out of the water. To begin with, we will ask you to simply breathe through the regulator and when you are ready we will ask you to kneel down under the water. At this time, we can start to practice equalizing your ears.

Your Instructor will demonstrate each skill, then you will copy and perfect the skills.

Amongst the first skills you will be mastering will be:

Regulator clearing
Regulator recovery
Mask clearing
Inflate and deflate the BCD at the surface (Buoyancy Control Device)
